The Mahabodhi Temple and stupas
where people come to pray
some come late
others enjoy their time
many prostrate
and meditate
sitting before the place where Buddha attained enlightenment
many pray
or make offerings before the images of Buddha
This is standing meditation
and this is life around the temple
We are well protected
Police are attentive
Many beggars needing our our support, just as we need the opportunity to be generous
Tea is delicious
the street is alive
Nearby lives the lord
his tiger throne
and cosy bed
but what brings us here
is Lord Buddha
in all aspects
and settings
wishing you a happy new year
